If you forget your username and password or the dog or computer ate your username or password it is OK. You can use any other teacher’s username and password from your grade level.
Have the students be part of the writing process. This can be a group journaling activity or you can have individual students edit and type on the wiki pages. After you visit the outdoor classroom for a lesson make a habit of writing on your Wiki. You and your students can create a rough draft on your SmartBoard of what you have learned. Older grades can then pick a student to type on the Wiki page. Please write on your Wiki once a week
Adding Bling to Your Wiki:After you click edit on your Wiki page and you type your information you might want to add some Bling to your text. To Bling up your text highlight everything you typed then click the T on the Editing Toolbar. With this text tool you can choose font, change your text size, choose a text color and choose an alignment. Don't forget to click "apply style" and "save" on the Toolbar.
4. Picture Pizzazz-Digital Photography on your Wiki: Sometimes it is hard to get great big old honking big mega pixel pictures on a Wiki page. A great free site for making collages and putting special effects and text on pictures is http://www.picnik.com/(check out the Halloween effects.) At Picnik you can create a free account, make collages, put special effects on people’s faces (I love the vampire teeth) put stickers and stamps on pictures, save your pictures on your computer and then upload them to your wiki page. Wow, you could even upload your pictures and have your students edit and type on the pictures.Groovy! 5. If you want some extra fine Bling, Bling try http://www.picturetrail.com/. There are several experts at Castlen that are already using this option. We will try this tool out a little more at our November 3rd meeting.
6. Clipart: Here are several safe clipart sites (I do not know if you can get to them at school.) Some of them have animated clipart. If you find clipart that you want to put on your page or on a handout you will need to save it first on you computer or USB drive. To put them on your Wiki you need to use the picture frame icon on the Wiki toolbar and upload them just like a digital camera picture. ·http://www.gifs.net/gif/ ·http://www.animationplayhouse.com/ ·http://www.phillipmartin.info/clipart/homepage.htm
